Her Smile is all I have

Her smile was the first thing I saw.
It lit up the entire world around me.
Her laugh was the first thing I heard.
It held an innocence long forgotten.
Her eyes held my attention.
As she caught me staring.
Her mind was a beautiful thing.
It kept me coming back for more.
Her body was a piece of art.
It was the temple that held all of her together.

Her body slowly moved out of my reach.
Sleeping farther away, walking away.
Her mind started to stray.
It start to give up on me.
Her eyes would fill with tears.
and eventually I lost sight of them.
I no longer heard her laugh.
It was swallow up by the cruelty of the world.
Her smile is all I have left.
It is in every dream I have, every poem I read.
